How Your Gift Helps

When you make a gift to Hills & Dales your gift helps in many ways:

Dreams & Desires

The “Dreams and Desires” auction that takes place the day of our annual golf outing provides for amazing opportunities such as trips for Hawkeye events, a trip to the Madison Zoo or museums in Chicago for individuals with disabilities to enjoy.

Individuals participate in the community in every way possible whether attending a theater event at the Bell Tower, attending a concert at the fair, shopping for a new video game, or getting a new hairstyle for the upcoming school year.  Each person however has that dream or desire to experience an event that isn’t always possible due to the funding constraints.  The staff has worked closely with the individuals to identify the event that would be beyond a dream to experience.  Just like you and I, a vacation or sport event or a big shopping trip requires some planning.

At Hills & Dales the barriers that prevent this experience from occurring is not only the funding but the supports that must be coordinated to make a trip happen.

Vehicles & Transportation

Our transportation needs have increased significantly over the past few years with the expansion of services and a larger number of persons supported, and our 2011 Annual Appeal, along with a Dubuque Racing Association grant, helped us purchase a new 11 passenger mini-bus to enhance our current aging fleet of vehicles.

Hills & Dales was recently presented with the keys to a new Variety minivan through a 2012 grant award.  Variety – The Children’s Charity is a non-profit organization committed to serving special-needs children, and has been a strong supporter of Hills & Dales for many years.

Through your gifts, our various programs and services for people of all ages and abilities will continue to thrive, and those persons genuinely appreciate your generosity!
